MID-YEAR REPORT
A Happy and Prosperous New Year to all of you.
It was an honor for myself to be nominated for a second term to represent you as the Canadian President of Ahepa. We have all lived through the tragic events of September 11th. and we have experienced turbulent times unprecedented in times of peace. Our Organization’s operations were somewhat curtailed and start- up programs delayed, as was the Governors Conference in Chicago of Sept.22/01.
My report will be brief and will only cover the major activities that I took part.
October 14, 2001
Ahepa Canada officially launched its campaign in support of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Ahepa Canada invited Mrs. Demetra Egan, Manager, Greeks Abroad of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games "Athens 2004". Mrs Egan was the guest speaker at a dinner function that followed the Installation of Officers for 2001-2002 of the Montreal Ahepa Family. This was a gala and successful event with over 350 in attendance including local and national politicians of Greek descent.

Attended the event together with Dist. 23 Governor Lazar Kalipolitis
October 26-27, 2001
Governors Conference in Chicago
The newly elected Supreme Lodge and Board of Directors met ( make up meeting of Sept.22/01) and also all District Governors were on hand for the outline and objectives of the upcoming year.
October 29, 2001
Metropolis Council of Toronto and the Canadian Archbishop Sotirios.
This was a special event for Ahepa Canada as we granted for the very first time scholarships to student priest of the Theological Academy of the Canadian Metropolis. The Ahepa Canada Family Charitable Organization was the donor of the two $500.00 scholarships and we feel that Ahepa Canada is doing its part in solidifying our relations with the Greek Orthodox Church. Ahepa Canada was the first Hellenic organization to officially support the Academy and its students and we will continue to do so on an annual basis.
November 9-11, 2001
District 23 Mid Year Conference in Bellville Ontario.
November 22, 2001
Attended the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce of Montreal Graduate Student awards and scholarships. The Montreal Chapter CJ 7 gave an award and a $1000.00 to a deserving
Graduate student and as Canadian President I addressed the gathering of approximately 450 people on the mission of Ahepa in the world.

Sofia Kolatsis and a member at large Peter Papadopoulos of Montreal and current President of the Montreal Chapter. Ahepa Canada was well represented in the SAE meetings and members representing the entire Family were there for the first time since the creation of SAE. In Thessaloniki we met together with Supreme President Andew Banis
Members and the President of Ahepa ChapterHJ-3 District 25
The Managing Director of the Ahepa Hospital in Thessaloniki.

Mrs. Demetra Egan, Manager, Greeks Abroad of the Athens 2004 , Organizing Committee.
In Athens on Dec 12th (PM)
Attended the Christmas party of Hellas District 25
Dec. 14th. 2001.
Together with Supreme President and Board of Directors Chairman and DOP Grand President visited the Hellenic Red Cross and took picture with the newly donated by
Ahepa mini bus. We also visited the Evangelismos Hospital in Athens. On the same day in the evening, we all attended the Initiation of 10 new Ahepans of Athens Chapter HJ-1 District 25 Greece.
I feel that our attendance at SAE provided Ahepa with much needed "PR, "especially for Ahepa International since our affiliates from Ahepa Australasia were also present.
I pray that this New Year will bring peace to the whole world so that Ahepa will continue to carry its mission worldwide for the benefit of the entire Ahepa Family and the benefit of Hellenism throughout the world.
Fraternally,

Xenophon Scoufaras
President, Ahepa Canada
